We are inquisitive, innovative, and value personal connections.

Our process begins with curiosity — a desire to listen deeply and look beyond the obvious. With strategy as our compass, we design for connection, context, and clarity.

Meet the Founder

Shruti Jaipuria studied Interior Design at the Parsons School of Design, New York, and had a training stint with design firm Tony Chi & Associates in New York. She returned to Bangalore and worked with local architects before founding MAIA Design in 2011. Prior to getting immersed in the world of design, Shruti studied Business Administration at The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and worked on projects for multiple Fortune 500 clients at the New England Consulting Group. Coming from a family of art collectors and philanthropists, Shruti has been surrounded by art and design since childhood. Her grandfather was a founding member of Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath and has donated 3 galleries including one on craft, an international art gallery that has Robert Rauschenberg.

Maia Design

“My approach is rooted in sensitivity — creating refined, contextual spaces that resonate far beyond aesthetics.”

“MAIA represents more than work — it’s my creative grounding. A space where ideas, values, and emotions merge into a design language that feels intuitive, intentional, and deeply connected to people.”

There are three words we take seriously:

Values

Artistic Integrity

Upholding the principles of authenticity and originality, valuing the uniqueness and creativity embedded in each crafted piece.

Values

Passion for the Process

Demonstrating a genuine love for the creative process, celebrating the journey of crafting and valuing the time and effort invested in every creation.

Values

Kinship with Craft

Integral to our ethos is working with artists who have a deep connection to their materials and the subtleties within.

Our Mindset

At our studio, we believe that local artists and craftsman are not just collaborators — they are catalysts of culture and imagination. Supporting their creative potential is integral to how we work and what we value.

Their craft brings soul to our spaces, and their perspectives deepen our own understanding of design and storytelling. Whether through commissions, partnerships, or simply acknowledgement, we are committed to uplifting artistic voices. To us, it’s not just about aesthetics — it’s about preserving culture, nurturing creativity, and honouring the hands and minds that shape it.
